Functional areas of a business

Production: The function of this department or division is to prepare and control the working of the business which is responsible for the change of raw materials into goods and services. The department is responsible for: buying raw materials, designing and creating of goods, performing quality control and organizing production on a suitable basis.

Finance: The finance department is accountable for maintaining an acceptable cash flow, making payments, and giving out receipts. It creates all financial statements and helps management with appropriate information for decision making.

Marketing: This department is responsible for market investigation or research and sales forecasting, advertising and promotion, also the allocation of goods so as to guarantee maximum profits.

Personnel: The personnel department responsible for training, motivating, recruitment and general wellbeing of employees.
