Building Code
A building code, or building control, is a set of regulations that identify the least satisfactory level of protection for constructed objects such as buildings and non building constructions. The key intention of building codes are to safe guard public health, safety and overall wellbeing as they link to the erection and habitation of buildings and structures. The government or private authority makes building codes lawful when necessary.
Some building codes regulations include setbacks, road sizes, verge, water zones etc..
A list of individuals who use Building codes may include the following architects, engineers, inspectors, real estate developers, subcontractors, manufacturers of building materials, insurance companies, tenants and more.
Building department units evaluate plans given to them before construction, may grant permits and assessors confirm conformity to these standards at the site for the duration of construction.
