The Painter
He sits on the horizon all day
The sea is an artist who likes to paint
With splashes of colours that never go faint
The wet shores are his paintings of grey
A wave like his hand and painting brush
With bristles of water to decorate
The beach his picture he wants to create
With colour the strand he gives a wash
In his hymn the swashing of water
The songs he utters as merry as spring
Whilst painting, moving the hand out and in
Mixing on his palette to splatter
In the portrayal of the coast line
With winds showing the strength in his colour
Adding paint to his masterpiece; the shore
Through day and night he paints all the time
