My Words
My words fall like raindrops on this page
Spilling ink with every letter
My words interweave like snakes in a rage
Flaming like a raging fire
My words cut through the forest of this page
With ignited meaning
Letters in conflagration on a stage
Syllables all blazing
There is not water to put out this fire
A fire on a rampage
My poetic thoughts demonstrate hunger
With a fire they’re engaged
Can you hear the cracking of this paper?
Like that of dry leaves and wood
Along this page my hand and pen meander
The white paper is its food
My words build a world of imagination
Thoughts as silent as the grave
Paint firelight pictures of love and destruction
To the pen I am a slave
