My Love Is Like A Hummingbird
My minute tropical bird that vibrates
Its wings as rapidly as thought
Echoing a humming sound through the air
Unlike butterflies, it hovers
Destined to keep us like lovers
Over the silver surface of waters
It hangs in midair searching for
Your heart like nectar hidden in a tree
Under crystal, liquid ground
Subterranean creatures hear hums
It speeds to a hibiscus tree in sight
Tears bring down floods of silt when it
Does not find your sweet love in the flowers
My hungry love is soiled with mud
With no love and the empty bed
