Dawn The Discoverer
Dawn sat afloat on the Santa Maria
And from a distance came the Nina and Pinta
Golden light the fleet in search of land
Bore from the horizon to kiss the sand
Dawn sailed the waves like a sailor
Navigated each move to shore
Everyone thought that the world was flat
But Dawn knew that it was not like that
The horizon mirrored the end of the world
But beyond this straight line was a plot of gold
Dawn saw clouds like islands ahead
And the illusion disappeared
Journey seemed perpetual as eternity
But soon there will be, an end to all that blue sea
The twinkled stars above started to fade away
But soon it was the beginning of a new day
Darkness like a bandit was gone
The island heard the sailors’ songs
It was the scream of seagulls in the air
And with a kiss as tender as a tear
He placed his lips on the island’s skin
For the natives it was not a dream
The Dawn had cast his heavy anchor
And lifted high his flying banner
