Lying In Chains
The flexible length of the links
Joining together in steel rings
Held by iron welded in loops
For her love, like a slave he stoops
On bended knees and bowed shoulders
He can’t break loose from these fetters
His feet are tied
With mouth sealed like a cell and hands cuffed
But the flame in his heart will not snuff
He is struggling to untie
Body is uttering a cry
A cry for her love
To set free from the silence that is filling his entire soul
Unlocking chains that are tying his larynx, to enter her world
With feet binding with shackles
He is striving in a battle
His hands restraining by tight manacles
Peeling skin, weakening every muscle
Finally giving up
Shedding blood on the ground leaving stains
For he remains still lying in chains
Lying in chains
Lying in chains
