A bowl
This is an encircling, open topped container, able to hold liquid. Materials used to make bowls include wood, glass and ceramic materials. This equipment is used to hold food, including food that is ready to be consumed.
A bread knife
A saw-like blade comprises of metal and elongated to slice across a large loaf of bread. In sawing it is feasible to slice the loaf without mashing it up. It is used to cut soft bread.
Cake and pie server
This instrument has a slender edge to help with slicing, and a large face, to hold the slice whilst moving to a plate, bowl or a container.
Chef’s Knife
Initially used to slice large pieces of beef, it is now the popular knife used by cooks.
Colander
A bowl like container having holes classically made from plastic or metal. It has large holes permitting large pieces of food like pasta to be drained swiftly. This instrument is used for draining food items cooked in water.
Corkscrew
This pierces and takes out a cork from a bottle.
Cutting Board
This is a moveable board on which food can be cut. It is generally made from wood or plastic.
A Funnel
This is a tube like instrument with a wide, conical mouth and a narrow stem. It is used to direct liquid or fine substances into containers with a little opening.
