Distinguish among Internet, intranet and extranet
Internet
A network linking computers around the world using TCP/IP, which stands for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol, a set of principles for transmitting and receiving digital data.
The Internet comprises mainly of the compilation of many interrelated webpages that are shifted using HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), and is collectively known as the World Wide Web.
The Internet also uses FTP (File Transfer Protocol) to move files, and SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) to transfer e-mail.
The internet is an electronic communications system that links computer networks and group computer facilities around the world
Intranet
This is a system working like the World Wide Web but having admission limited to a certain group of approved users like employees of a company
Extranet
This is a system or network like in a company similar to an intranet that also facilitates admission by certain others like customers or suppliers
