Different stages of growth and development
The earliest stage is infancy, lasting from birth to eighteen months. During this stage, the baby develops quickly from a completely dependent and vulnerable infant to a walking and fairly independent toddler.
Throughout the second stage, called Early Childhood (eighteen months to three years), shows considerable changes in language development. The typical 18 month old can only say a few words while a three year old can shape sentences.
The third period can be called Play Age (three to five years) involves additional language development, and by age five the typical child identifies near to 2,000 words.
The School Age child (six to twelve years) shows quick increase in tallness and weight, and at this time outside peer groups have strong influences on them.
Puberty and adolescence stage normally last from ages 12-18. The teenager will go through some important natural changes like the breast enlargement for girls and increased body hair for males.
The three stages of adulthood are as follows; Young Adulthood (18 to 35), Middle Adulthood (35 to 55 or 65), and Late Adulthood (55 or 65 to death).
