Skating
The pavement smooth as glass she glides upon
As you hear the roller-skating ski song
Her two feet move with the resplendent steel
A ballerina on toes each heel
Glissading with the wind
Along the ice-blue stream
The mountains in the distant sky are lost
Her world seems motionless in spotless frost
But she’s only moving
In this bliss, wintry dream
The stiff branches hang silent in the snow
As she glides like a bird, the winds follow
The joy she feels in flight
Never as sad as night
With speed to leave the roaming wind behind
Into the wilderness of the unkind
