The King Of Beasts
The symbol of great strength I call the majesty
He lives in Africa, he calls his dynasty
A member of the cat family
He strikes terror in his territory
He could defeat all others in combat
Feeding on grazing animals this cat
Rest by day and does hunting by night like a bat
Zebras, gazelles and antelopes he’ll tear their heart
The cat’s voice is a roar or a growl
In the open country he will prowl
He always lives near some supply of water
To quench his great thirst, this repulsive creature
He will not attack a rhinoceros
He’ll not attack a hippopotamus
When he isn’t hungry he pays no attention to others
But the beastly monster, in his dominion maintains his laws
When hunting, may lay hidden until a prey passes close by
Or he may crawl and wiggle up to his victim
Then make a sudden dash as fast as a comet from the sky
At 40 miles an hour, hear the victim’s scream
The king of beasts is the emperor
Of the land where he is monstrous
The land Africa his empire
This great beast is so barbarous
