Love is a Warrior (Terza Rima)
It was night time when he first saw her face
She was like silver under the moonlight
With skin of silk and hair like necklace
She was silverware with the name Maureen
In prison by the darkness of the night
Like a warrior he fought for his queen
His heart was the sun battling darkness
Like a soldier walking across the sky
With golden arrows piercing the darkness
The light from his heart dimmed the twinkled stars
Shooting through the air the moon disappeared
Trying to free her from the jail night’s bars
To free her, the azure he ascended
Sweeping away the darkness before him
World bright as a new penny he mounted
The dark fled to the western horizon
With shield of gold, himself he defended
He the fighter clothed in yellow and red
